1750 feet above sea level, at the top of ‘Haputale’ mountain
A model of a ‘Dagoba’ was constructed at the top of ‘Haputale’ mountain for the ‘Poson’ celebrations in June 2014(It was on a Poson Full Moon Poya day in the 3rd century B.C that Buddhism was introduced to Sri Lanka by Arahant Mahinda, son of Emperor Ashoka who had become a Buddhist monk) with the help of the Special Task Force (STF) of Sri Lanka Police.
